Candidacy to the Intergovernmental Committee

The Intergovernmental Committee to the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage is elected every two years, when approximately half of the 24 seats on the Committee expire and are refilled. Unlike the World Heritage Committee the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 Convention is elected according to regional groups, each of which has at least three seats.

While this makes it comparatively easy to prepare a campaign, a candidature still has to either be based on an agreement of the regional group or on an election campaign among all States Parties. In either case think heritage! can assist you in preparing a tailor-made candidacy campaign which illustrates your competence in the field of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. We further assist in arranging relevant contacts and meetings to convince key-opinion leaders of your capacity and expertise, and guide you in the presentation of your strategic objectives for Committee membership.

Please note that think heritage! accepts campaign support services no later than 2 months (60 days) before the scheduled date of election and that we only support one State Party per election year.
